Well, it’s been a frantic week trying to get Blue Dot: Book One ready for release.
When I put out “Telemetry”, I was following my usual method of “Do now, fix later”. It was more important to me to learn the entire process from start to finish than making sure everything was perfect on the site, or even in the book itself. I’m glad I did it this way, as it allowed me to make fast progress and receive quite a bit of free education fixing everything I initially screwed up.
The release of Blue Dot will reflect all that I’ve learned, and will be a MUCH more finished product than Telemetry ever was.
The final edits are being made today, and the new cover art looks absolutely amazing. The astronaut in a business suit with puppet strings attached is a perfect metaphor for the entire series.
A few more things to do and I’ll be uploading it to Amazon. Blue Dot WILL be available via Kindle Unlimited, and due to Amazon’s requirements for the exposure that brings, it will NOT be available anywhere else, including this site. I think $2.99 is a fair price for the story, and I hope you do too. Book Two is underway, and I’ve even gotten a good idea for another short story.
We will be undergoing updates on the site for the next few days, pardon our appearance during this time. We use WordPress, and sometimes I think launching a rocket from my backyard would be easier to figure out. “Telemetry” will continue to be available on Amazon and here on the site, mostly because I learned so much about launching an ecommerce component that I hate the thought of removing it.
Appreciate all the support and site hits. Keep coming back and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter!
